Take a holistic approach to wellness by learning to address wellness in terms of body systems. Think beyond the disease-symptom model, and instead focus on systems that govern the function of your entire body.
A healthy body is like a finely tuned symphony orchestra. An orchestra is divided into sections, and sections are composed of individual instruments. Similarly, the body is divided into sections called body system that are composed of individual organs. During a musical performance when out of tune sounds come from a single instrument, it affects not only that section , but the quality from the entire orchestra. The conductors role is to identify the underlying cause behind the affected sound, tuning and refining where necessary. So too, ie is every individual the conductor of their own bodies orchestration and internal harmony in partnership with the body itself.
All the body systems are interconnected, when one system is is not working correctly all the other systems are impacted. Likewise when one body system is repaired or strengthened and the whole body benefits and the whole body starts to work more efficiently. For true wellness think in terms of body systems, The eleven systems of the body are:
-
skeletal
-
muscular
-
circulatory
-
respiratory
-
nervous
-
digestive
-
integumentary (skin)
-
endocrine
-
immune
-
reproductive
-
urinary
In conclusion for maximum wellness of our body systems, we need to make sure we are paying attention from symptoms to root causes, and by taking care of our body systems before they begin to falter.
